March 14-15: Riverside’s first event of the year, the Iceberg Open was this weekend. It’s a 3-man scramble and on Saturday my team shot a 66, which was 4 off the lead as we only made one putt on the first 9 holes for one under on that side. It’s been a long time off and not for a good reason, which is kind of a bummer, but better to get healthy than to risk deeper injury. After Monday I should be able to at least go out and chip and putt on Tuesday, I hope.March 16-25: I didn’t have working internet this week so did not log my exact days activities, but I did keep a running count of the hours day-to-day.In all, I took one day off and averaged about 4 practice hours for the rest of them for 32 hours of practice total. Random Stat: funny how easy it is to rely on the internet..Afterwords I teed it up with some guys and played 18. Fun day and plenty of golf action to watch on the TV after. Didn’t hit it that well and the bumpy greens make scrambling pretty tough. Random Stat: was about 5th net so not in any money.
April 4: Played in the Saturday game pretty early and then had a lot of moving to do through the afternoon all the way to April 5. April 3: Using the thoughts from yesterday evening with the driver I went out to Langdon Farms and played with a couple of guys I had never teed it with. April 2: Played in the Thursday game despite the bumpy greens and really just focussed on ball striking as putts were skittering here and there between the sand and holes.I hit it really well today, had one 3-putt and a couple silly bogeys, but also made two good birds. It was another beauty of a day but I wasn’t hitting it great and the putts are even worse now that the grass is starting to fill back in, very bumpy. It’s best to just not really think about score in these conditions unless it’s a competition round. April 6: Went down to Stone Creek with a buddy to play on non-punched greens and then in the evening had my first 9-hole round of a Monday league that I just joined. Saw Chiropractor Seth and he said I was all twisted up in the hips and lower back and needed a couple of adjustments.First one was on Monday, followed by an easy Tuesday and then again in his office Wednesday.
